A fire occurred last night at a pumping station in the Castlejane area of Glanmire. As a result, homes and businesses in the Glanmire area may be experiencing interruptions to their water supply today. Irish Water and Cork County Council are working with specialist contractors to assess the impact and extent of works involved to safely restore normal production as quickly as possible.

Emergency repair works are being carried out to restore power to the pumping station and allow the teams responding to assess the damage and plan repair work. It is hoped that these works will allow water production return to normal later today.

Irish Water apologises for the inconvenience to those impacted in the Glanmire area. All efforts are being undertaken to resolve the supply problem as quickly as possible.
