Economic Crime Bureau, began in March 2021 and has uncovered significant fraud involving impersonation during driver theory tests.

Numerous search operations revealed that 124 incidents of impersonation resulted in 114 third parties successfully obtaining learner permits. In several cases, these third parties paid up to €2,500 for impersonation services and the resulting Driver Theory Test Certificates.

The Road Safety Authority (RSA) has identified all 114 individuals involved, and the learner permits obtained through these fraudulent means have been voided and revoked.

The arrested woman is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Court number 3 at 10:30 am today.

Investigations are ongoing as Gardaí continue to address this serious breach of trust and public safety.
