The rain will be more persistent in southern coastal counties but is expected to clear southeastward by the afternoon. Following the rain, drier weather with bright or sunny spells will develop in all areas. Temperatures today will reach highs of 16 to 18 degrees Celsius, with light southwest to west breezes.

Tonight, the weather will remain dry and calm with clear spells. A few patches of mist or fog may develop overnight. Lowest temperatures will range from 6 to 10 degrees, with light, variable breezes.

Looking Ahead to Monday

Monday is expected to be largely dry with plenty of sunny spells, especially in the eastern parts of Munster. Western areas may see a bit more cloud cover, and there could be some drizzle along the west coast. Temperatures will rise, ranging from 18 to 21 degrees, with the highest temperatures in the west. Light southeast to south breezes will persist.

National Outlook

The week ahead looks warm and mostly dry, with bright or sunny spells across the country. Temperatures will range from the high teens to low 20s, with Monday night expected to be mostly dry. Clear spells will be more common in the east, with some cloudier conditions in the west and northwest, possibly bringing drizzle.

Tuesday through Friday will continue the dry and bright trend, with temperatures reaching up to 21 or 22 degrees Celsius. Light to moderate east to southeast winds will keep eastern regions cooler while the midlands and west will enjoy the warmest temperatures. Nights will be mild, with temperatures ranging from 7 to 11 degrees and some mist or fog patches developing.

Current indications suggest a greater chance of showers next weekend, with temperatures dropping to the mid to high teens.
