Uisce Éireann is working to restore water to customers in parts of Cork following outages caused by heavy rainfall over the weekend.

Water services crews are on the ground this afternoon and every effort is being made to maintain water supply to as many customers as possible, but homes and businesses in Killeagh and the Mogeely and Ladysbridge areas have been affected.

In Killeagh, approximately 300 customers are experiencing a disruption to their water supply with reduced water pressure for customers in the Mogeely and Ladysbridge areas.

Uisce Éireann’s Cormac Bergin assured customers that every effort is being made to restore water as quickly as possible.

“Heavy rainfall has impacted operations. We understand the inconvenience of unplanned outages and reduced pressure and we thank customers for their support while the repair works are ongoing.”

Repairs are expected to be complete early tomorrow afternoon. Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network.
