Met Éireann has issued an advisory as Storm ÉOWYN (AY-OH-WIN), a deepening low-pressure system, is set to sweep across Ireland on Thursday night and Friday. The storm is forecast to bring very strong to gale-force winds nationwide, with the potential for damaging gusts and widespread disruption.

In addition to the wind, transitory falls of sleet and snow are expected, particularly in western and northwestern counties. This will likely make driving conditions hazardous in affected areas. High seas and spells of heavy rain are also predicted, further heightening the risk of localised flooding and travel difficulties.

Met Éireann is closely monitoring the storm’s development and will issue weather warnings as confidence in its track and intensity improves.

The public is advised to remain vigilant, stay updated via Met Éireann’s website and app, and prepare for potential disruptions over the coming days.
