PRESS RELEASE – SEVERE WEATHER ADVICE UPDATE

Cork City Council’s Crisis Management Team is continuing to monitor the deteriorating weather conditions, and has been responding throughout the day to emergency calls from the public.

The Council is advising the public that should assistance be required in the event of an emergency, you may contact the following numbers:

With the approach of high tides, road closures have been put in place at the following locations:
• Morrisons Island
• Union Quay

Some pooling is likely to occur at these locations.
The public is advised that all public car-parking facilities will not be operating tomorrow, Friday 2nd March. These facilities are as follows:
• Park and Ride, Kinsale Road
• Paul Street Carpark
• North Main Street

The parking arrangements for Saturday will be kept under review as the weather conditions evolve throughout the day on Friday.
The Council is again advising the public to avoid unnecessary travel and to heed the warnings to remain indoors for the duration of the severe weather.

The City Council will provide regular updates as the situation develops further.
