Cork City Council’s Oifig Forbartha Gaeilge (Irish Development Office) presents Oíche don Úcráin – A Night for Ukraine, on Thursday 31st March in City Hall, Cork.

Traditionally, Cork City Council’s Oifig Forbartha Gaeilge (Irish Development Office) organises an evening of Irish music and culture in the Concert Hall, City Hall, Cork to celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge.  In light of the present crisis in Ukraine, this has been reimagined as Oíche don Úcráin – A Night for Ukraine, a fundraising concert with a galaxy of stars from the traditional Irish music and cultural scene together with Ukrainian counterparts.

Among the acts confirmed are:

  • Jimmy Crowley;
  • Nell Ní Chróinín;
  • John Spillane;
  • Karan Casey;
  • Mná na bPíob – 5 of Ireland Premier Uileann pipers Máire Ní Ghráda, Rosaleen O’ Leary, Mary Mitchell-Ingoldsby, Heather Clarke agus Molly Ní Ghráda;
  • Olena Lesya Iglody, Oksana Dobronos, Nadiya Yalova (Ukraine)
  • Poetry/Filíocht le Theo Dorgan
  • House Band: The Céillí Allstars;
  • Daltaí ó Ghaelscoil Uí Riada agus Gaelscoil Ghort Álainn.

The event will take place on Thursday 31st March 2022 in the Concert Hall, City Hall, Cork (Doors at 7.30 p.m.)  Proceeds from the concert will go to AURI (Association of Ukrainians in the Republic of Ireland) to be disbursed to the various international relief organisations as appropriate.

The concert will be streamed live on Cork City Council’s website www.corkcity.ie with an option to donate being available.
