A weather warning was issued on Sunday evening throwing the city and county into a frenzy, all assuming that our ‘Summer’ was over.

Fear not though, we have it on good authority (Met Eireann) that temperatures will soar to as high as 22° tomorrow, and the warm weather will continue for the remainder of the week, and into the weekend! 🙌

In typical Cork fashion – break out the BBQ, grab the steaks and make sure you slap on the factor 50!

The official forecast from Met Eireann is below:

TODAY – TUESDAY 22ND MAY

Misty in some places around dawn, but the day will be dry and bright with sunny spells. Winds light north to northeast, moderate sea breezes developing on the coast and afternoon temperatures will range from about 13 or 14 degrees Celsius along the coast to about 16 to 18 degrees Celsius inland, but up to 19 degrees Celsius in parts of the south.

TONIGHT – TUESDAY 22ND MAY

Dry tonight with clear periods and some patchy mist or fog developing in overnight lows of 5 to 8 degrees Celsius in light northeast breezes.

TOMORROW – WEDNESDAY 23RD MAY

Wednesday: Dry with early mist or fog clearing and good sunny spells developing. Warm inland in the afternoon, with temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees Celsius in light north to northeast breezes, a little cooler on some coasts in sea breezes.

NATIONAL OUTLOOK

Outlook is for warm weather through the rest of the week and over the weekend into next week, dry at first but there is a risk of some thundery conditions later in the weekend and into Monday.
