On Friday, the Munster Technological University’s International Office hosted a culture day at the MTU stadium for around 150 International students from around the word.

Former Cork hurler, Sean Óg Ó hAilpín and MTU Senior footballer Ava Walsh coached the students in the basics of Hurling and Football, an integral part of Irish culture. The students were able to learn the Irish Language and music from Irish Singer Sean O Se and Gaeilgeoir Larry Whelan. Friday’s event was an important day for our International students, many of whom had only arrived in Ireland a week prior, as they were able to receive first hand experience of Irish culture form Local legends.

The university was established in January 2021, the result of a merger between two institutes of technology, Cork Institute of Technology and IT Tralee. MTU International Office welcomes International students and frequently organises events to help introduce students to Irish culture.
