Gardaí have seized over €5,000 in suspected drugs and cash in Cork City on July 5, 2020.

As part of an ongoing operation targeting street level drug distribution in Cork City centre, uniform Gardaí from Anglesea Street Garda Station executed a search warrant at a property on Anglesea Terrace.

During the course of the search Gardaí sized 5 deals of suspected heroin valued at €4,000, approximately €1,100 in cash and a weighing scales. The suspected drugs will now be sent for analysis.

A man, aged in his 40s, was arrested at the scene and brought to Bridewell Garda Station. He was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 and has since been charged.

He is due to appear before Cork City District Court this morning, July 6 at 10.30am.
