- Lord Mayor Cllr. Kieran McCarthy has formally launched LEO Cork City’s upcoming programme of training supports for small and micro businesses in City Hall.
Training is available for small businesses (less than 10 employees) at all stages of development i.e. pre-start / start-up / growth, including Start Your Own Business, Social Media, Finance, Sales, Practical HR, Marketing, Grow Your Business etc.
The Lord Mayor is supportive of the broad range of courses on offer:
“Traders must continue to upskill and learn new ways of communicating with their customers in order to compete in today’s marketplace. The courses offered by the Local Enterprise Office are specifically designed for those involved in small businesses and are highly subsidised, and in many cases are free.”
Head of Enterprise
at LEO Cork City, Dr. Niall O’Keeffe supported the Lord Mayor’s comments:
“The Local Enterprise team here in the City Council continues to respond to the training needs of entrepreneurs and those wishing to explore entrepreneurship. The autumn/winter schedule contains a mix of short and longer programmes, in-person and online delivery and contains a number of our highly popular longstanding programmes as well as some newer programmes reflective of the continually changing environment. The opportunities vary from one of our Lunch & Learn’ series, ‘Export to the UK Made Easy’ to a short programme developed by Age Friendly Ireland showing businesses how to cater for our aging population. I would encourage anyone seeking to be more effective in entrepreneurship to check out the full programme.”
Information on all the upcoming training courses and programmes can be viewed on LEO Cork City’s website www.localenterprise.ie/corkcity where they can also be booked online.
