German retailer Lidl have urged the public not to panic buy, and to remember the basics when shopping in their stores across the country.
In a statement on their Facebook Page, Lidl Ireland said:
We just want to put your mind at ease and remind you that the safety of our team and customers is our top priority!
We are confident of maintaining supply of key lines even as demand remains high and we ask our customers not to panic buy.
Along with in-store sanitisation, Perspex till guards, traffic light queue management systems that track numbers in store – we have many other measures in place to keep our stores as safe as possible.
We ask you to please remember:
- Sanitise your hands
- Maintain a social distance – keep 2m apart
- Use trolley/basket cleaning stations
- Respect priority hours for elderly & vulnerable, 9am to 11am daily
- Use contactless payment where possible
- Wear a mask
- Be patient with us – our staff are working extra hard
- Be responsible!
Most of all be kind and respectful. Our teams are working very hard under difficult circumstances and we appreciate your support!
