The Leap Scarecrow Festival is back, promising days filled with spooks, laughs, and lively Halloween fun for families, friends, and scarecrow enthusiasts from all corners. Starting Monday, October 21st, scarecrows will start popping up throughout Leap, transforming the village into a Halloween wonderland. With indoor events kicking off Friday, October 22nd, and running through to Sunday, November 3rd, there’s something for everyone in this year’s exciting line-up.

A Heartwarming Story Behind the Festival

What began in 2015 as a quirky idea by local resident Rita Ryan to brighten up the quiet village of Leap has blossomed into a much-loved annual tradition. “At first, we thought it might be nice to have a bit of Halloween fun and maybe draw in a few locals,” says Rita. “But suddenly, our village was swarming with people from all over, each one here to admire our funny, creative, and sometimes downright spooky scarecrows.”

With the whole community rallying together, the festival has grown beyond expectations. Now in its ninth year, the streets of Leap come alive with scarecrow creations of all kinds, each year wittier, spookier, and more delightful than the last. “This festival wouldn’t be possible without the incredible spirit of our community,” Rita adds. “We’re so excited to open our village again and welcome everyone to the home of the Leap Scarecrow Festival!”
