In an impressive display of academic achievement, Christian Brothers College (CBC) is celebrating the extraordinary success of its Leaving Cert class of 2023. Ten students at CBC have received the maximum points of 625 in their examinations, a remarkable accomplishment that has brought joy and pride to the school community.
One student in particular achieved an astounding 8 H1 grades, while four other students were awarded 7 H1s. Out of 144 students receiving their results today, an impressive 20% have obtained at least 600 points.
Principal David Lordon has been effusive in his praise for the students, their parents, and the school’s teaching staff. He stated:
“It is a fantastic morning for the lads. It takes a team effort to get results like this and it is testament to the parents, teachers and especially the students for the hard work they put in over the last few years.”
The results are particularly noteworthy considering the unique challenges faced by this year’s class. For many, the Leaving Cert was the first state exam they sat, adding an extra layer of pressure to an already demanding process.

“These students faced very challenging circumstances and the Leaving Cert was the first state exam they sat, which makes today’s results all the more impressive,” Lordon added.
