However, conditions will worsen later in the morning as rain develops and becomes heavy at times during the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will remain mild, ranging from 14 to 16 degrees, with light to moderate southeasterly winds, which may turn fresh and gusty later in the day.

Tonight, the wet conditions will persist, with scattered outbreaks of rain. Hill and coastal mist and fog are also expected, adding to the humid conditions. Temperatures will stay mild, dropping to between 11 and 14 degrees. Winds will remain light to moderate but may occasionally turn gusty earlier in the night.

Wednesday morning will be mostly cloudy with scattered rain continuing. Fortunately, the afternoon is expected to bring drier and brighter weather, with sunny spells and just isolated showers. Temperatures will rise slightly, reaching 15 to 18 degrees, accompanied by light to moderate southerly winds.

Friday looks to be a wet and breezy day, with rain moving eastwards and turning heavy at times, particularly in the morning and afternoon. A clearance to sunny spells and isolated showers will follow, with temperatures ranging from 14 to 17 degrees.

Saturday is expected to be cooler, with dry and bright conditions across most areas, although showers are still possible. Temperatures will be slightly lower, ranging from 11 to 14 degrees.

Amateur Forecasts Highlight Flooding Concerns

According to amateur forecasters, Weather Alerts Ireland and Carlow Weather, there is a risk of significant rainfall accumulation over the next few days. Weather Alerts Ireland warns of possible accumulations of over 50mm on higher ground and over 30mm on lower levels, particularly in the south and east. There is also a risk of thundery downpours following this rain.

Carlow Weather echoes these warnings, highlighting the risk of over 20mm of rainfall in parts of the east, southeast, and east by Wednesday afternoon. More heavy rain is forecasted for Friday, so residents should stay alert for potential weather warnings.
