Fire crews worked through the night on Tuesday and into Wednesday morning tackling a fire which broke out at St. Kevin’s Unit of Our Lady’s Hospital on the Lee Road. Six units of Cork City Fire Brigade responded to the incident with the inclusion of 3 pumps, 2 tankers and 25 members of Cork City Fire Brigade in attendance.A Garda Technical investigation is yet to commence, but it is believed that the fire may have been started deliberately with youths reported to have been seen fleeing the area before the fire broke out but no official cause has been cited as of yet.
