Cork Lions are holding a DriveIn Bingo in the car park of Curraheen Greyhound Stadium at 3:30pm on Saturday July 25th. All Social Distancing Guidelines as per HSE recommendations will be adopted. Gates will open at 2:30pm so arrive early to avoid disappointment as car spaces are limited.

Cork Lions Club is a voluntary organisation which supports local and national causes and has provided support for numerous charities based in Cork City since it’s foundation in 1957. Due to the Covid 19 crisis Cork Lions Club has not been able to raise any funds since the lockdown in March.
Bingo Books will be sold as you arrive in Curraheen Greyhound Stadium Car Park or can be purchased online on our website www.corklionsclub.ie and picked up on arrival.

The numbers called will be transmitted locally on a channel which can be listened to on your car radio. Cork Lions would also like to extend the opportunity of playing a game of bingo to people who cannot make it to our DriveIn Bingo by broadcasting the event via Facebook Live. There will also be several bingo books available on our website which can be printed off to allow people play bingo at home.

Garry Ryan, President Cork Lions Club, said: “We’re delighted to run the DriveIn Bingo, hopefully it will prove to be a popular and fun event for everyone. Monies raised will allow us to support local Cork charities, our annual Christmas food appeal and the Lions Hero Shield Project. Buy online at www.corklionsclub.ie All monies raised locally stay local. We would like to thank the Irish Greyhound Board for allowing us to hold the event in their carpark”

The DriveIn Bingo will raise much needed funds to support local charities and the Christmas Food Appeal. In addition, funds raised will be used to support the Lions Hero Shield Project where face shields, manufactured in Ireland, have been donated to front line workers throughout the island of Ireland. To date over 40000 face shields have been distributed.

Cork Lions Club will also be taking the opportunity to collect old glasses as part of their Recycle for Sight Campaign. This project recycles old spectacles which are cleaned, graded and distributed at eye clinics in the third world. We are appealing to the public to clean out their old glasses from drawers and bring them along to the bingo on Saturday July 25th. A donation point will be available in the car park.
