Cork City Council is warning that there will be a period of high astronomical Spring tides this Saturday morning, October 31 2020.
Following Met Eireann’s issuing of a Status Orange Wind Warning for Cork earlier today and the associated predicted tidal storm surge, there is now a risk that some roads & parking areas along low-lying quays in the city centre may suffer localised flooding during the morning high tide:
- Morrison’s Quay
- Fr Matthew Quay
- Trinity Bridge
- South Terrace
- Union Quay,
- Sharman Crawford Street
- Wandesford Quay
- Frenche’s Quay
- Proby’s Quay
- Crosses Green
- Lavitt’s Quay
- Kyrl’s Quay
Traffic restrictions may be in place at these locations during these times. High tide times of note are as follows:
Day | Date | Morning High Tide | Evening High Tide |
Saturday | 31/10/2020 | 05:15 | N/A |
Cork City Council is continuing to monitor the situation closely; please stay alert for further updates.
