Bweeng Village is set to host its annual 5k road race on Sunday, with a large crowd expected to participate. The race will start at 12 pm on Gloundine Road and will pass through the village before finishing a few hundred meters before the church.
The event is a major logistical undertaking that has required several months of planning. The Bweeng Community Centre will serve as the race headquarters, and there will be a significant presence of stewards, gardaí, and emergency services throughout the village to ensure the safety of participants and spectators.
Drivers should be aware that there will be major disruptions in and around the village from 11:40 am until 1:30 pm. Several roads will be closed to traffic during this time, and drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible. Neighboring areas should also be aware that there may be disruptions on approach roads from Donoughmore, Nadd, Lombardstown, Laharn Cross, Gortroe, Glantane, Dromahane, and Grenagh.
Local residents are encouraged to spread the word in their own communities and cooperate with authorities to make the event a success. The Bweeng 5k road race is a popular event that attracts runners and spectators from across the region, and the organizers are grateful for the support of the local community.
