Gardaí have issued important guidance for those attending the Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band concert at Páirc Uí Chaoimh on 16 May 2024. Here is what you need to know to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience:
General Advice:
- Parking Restrictions: There is no dedicated parking at Páirc Uí Chaoimh. City centre car parks are available and within easy walking distance.
- Public Transport: Attendees are encouraged to use public or shared transport. The 202 and 212 bus routes serve Páirc Uí Chaoimh, with stops at Ballintemple on Blackrock Road, near the pharmacy.
- Pedestrian Safety: Priority will be given to pedestrians after the concert, and vehicles in the area will be held for pedestrian safety.
- Alcohol Consumption: Drinking alcohol in public is prohibited. Gardaí will enforce a zero-tolerance policy.
- Littering: Use the bins provided in the vicinity of the stadium to dispose of litter.
- Toilets: Portaloos are available around the stadium.
- Mobile Phones (eTickets): Ensure your mobile phone is fully charged to present your e-ticket at bag checks.
- Searches: All patrons will be searched prior to entry.
Road Closures:
From 2 pm, parts of Monahan Road and Maryville will be closed until approximately midnight:
- Ardfoyle / Park Avenue
- Blackrock Road / Maryville
- Monahan’s Road / Link Road
- Centre Park Road / Link Road
A soft closure will be in place from 4 pm, upgraded to a full closure at 5 pm, until approximately midnight:
- Boreenmanna Road / Churchyard Lane (residents only)
- Blackrock Road / Churchyard Lane (residents only)
- Boreenmanna Road / Crab Lane (residents only)
- Blackrock Road / Crab Lane (residents only)
- Monahan Road from Victoria Road Junction (by Circle K)
- Centre Park Road (from Roundabout)
- Mill Road
Residents are requested to carry their driving licences to access road closure areas by car.Stadium Route:
- By foot: From the city centre via Centre Park Road and Monahan Road (15-minute walk).
- From Boreenmanna Road via Churchyard Lane, Maryville (10-minute walk).
- By bus: The 202 Bus from Cork City to Blackrock Village, stopping at Ballintemple. Exit at Maryville, a two-minute walk from the stadium.
By Car:
- From the South Link Road (N27): Take the Mahon / Blackrock exit, then proceed left onto Skehard Road towards Boreenmanna Road. Park respectfully in the area. Priority exiting will be given to traffic from Mahon and Ballintemple heading towards the South Link Road.
- From the North Ring Road (N20/N40): Take the Dunkettle exit onto Lower Glanmire Road. Use city centre public car parks for parking.
Parking:
Parking is available in city centre car parks. Do not:
- Park on footpaths or at entrances to housing estates, business premises, parks, etc.
- Park in disabled spaces or at bus stops.
- Park in areas that may restrict emergency services access.
Buses:
Coaches and buses should park on Boreenmanna Road for after-concert priority.
Drop Off:
- Taxis: Drop off area on Victoria Road, just before Marina Walk.
- Other large public service vehicles: Set down and pick up on Boreenmanna Road.
After the Concert:
Follow Gardaí and stewards’ directions. Use the tunnel and South Ring Road to travel home. City traffic will be restricted. With an expected attendance of over 40,000, patience is essential when leaving the stadium area.
