Do you want a rewarding career working with children with a disability? The HSE has launched its first nationwide Children’s CDNT recruitment campaign, supporting teams of staff from the HSE and a range of partner organisations. Whether newly qualified or experienced, we are calling on you to be part of our team and join our Children’s Disability Network Teams.

As part of the ‘Be part of our team, Be part of their lives’ campaign, the HSE is recruiting:

  • Dietitians
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Physiotherapists
  • Psychologists
  • Social Workers
  • Speech and Language Therapists

Bernard Gloster, HSE CEO,

 said:

“This is our single biggest priority when it comes to recruiting Health and Social Care Professionals in these disciplines at the start of 2024. While we are making progress we have a long way to go with our disability services and need new professionals to be part of this effort.

This is an opportunity to join a team of highly skilled professionals, working and learning together for the children and families who use our service. Each child who uses our services is unique and our teams work together with them and their families to empower and support them to set and achieve goals that make a difference.”

Speaking about their work, members of the Tipperary Children’s Services, HSE Mid West Community Healthcare, said:

“We thoroughly enjoy working closely with other members of the interdisciplinary team and have learned so much from other professionals since we began. We enjoy the variety that working as part of a CDNT brings. We work in the home, school and other community settings and work with a broad range of diagnoses and presentations across the age range. Family centred practice provides ample opportunities to make a significant impact on the lives of those living with disabilities within the community.”

Children’s Disability Network Teams want to see all children thrive, grow, and learn. Our 91 children’s disability teams provide support, care and therapy to children with complex needs and their families around the country, and we know that this work makes a huge difference.

Working with children and their families in the Children’s Disability Network Team will enable you to support their development, well-being, and participation in family and community life, as well as bring together groups of children and their parents to learn new skills and share experiences.

The HSE supports staff personal and professional development through further learning to enhance professional qualifications, time off to study, access to staff online training portal, HSE leadership academy, and coaching programme.
