Gardai are seeking the public’s assistance in possibly tracing a man involved in an attempted armed robbery at the post office in Grenagh, Co. Cork this morning.

The man who was said to be armed with a screwdriver, and a firearm. There is said to have been some confrontation at the front of the store, with the proprietor shortly after 9am. 

The man is said to have left a number of items behind, including the screwdriver.

He’s described as being around 5ft 6” tall, and was wearing a blue/green puffy type jacket. CCTV images are being examined, as well as door to door enquiries. The screwdriver will also undergo forensic examination.
