Gardaí have arrested a man and seized €12,000 worth of suspected cocaine in Bishopstown, Co. Cork on July 30, 2020.

At 3pm Gardaí from the Divisional Drugs Unit in Cork City executed a search warrant at a house in Curraheen Estate, Bishopstown.

During the course of the search Gardaí seized €12,000 worth of cocaine. The local Scene of Crime Unit attended where they photographed the scene and the suspected drugs. The suspected drugs will now be sent for analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.

A man, aged in his 30s, was arrested at the scene and was brought to Togher Garda Station. He was detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

He has since been released and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
