Met Éireann have issued a status yellow – (rainfall) weather warning for Munster, valid from Saturday 28 September 2019 12:00 to Sunday 29 September 2019 12:00.

  • Forecasters are warning that heavy rain at times with amounts of 25 to 40 mm and a risk of spot flooding. Rain will be heaviest from this afternoon to tonight.

Cork City Council have also warned of possible risks of localised flooding in Cork City this weekend.

There will be a period of high astronomical Spring tides this Saturday 28th, Sunday 29th and Monday 30th September 2019.

There is a risk that some roads & parking areas along low-lying quays in the city centre may suffer localised flooding during high tides; i.e. South Terrace, Morrison’s Quay, Fr Matthew Quay, Trinity Bridge, Union Quay, Wandesford Quay, Frenche’s Quay, Crosses Green, Lavitt’s Quay, Kyrl’s Quay.
