Update 11:00 – The road has since reopened to traffic following the overnight collision.

Gardaí in Midleton are investigating a serious injury road traffic accident at Castleredmond, Midleton involving a single vehicle, which occurred at approximately 1.40am on the 10/8/19.

A male driver, aged 18 years, has been removed from the location to Cork University Hospital with serious Injuries. The vehicle involved remains at the scene. The road, which is part of the N25, has been closed off between the Lakeview Roundabout and the Old Youghal Road, Midleton, to allow for Garda Forensic Collision Investigations to be carried out. Local Diversions are in place.
