Met Éireann have issued a status yellow Snow/Ice – Weather Warning for Ireland, valid from Monday 21 January 2019 21:00 to Tuesday 22 January 2019 19:00.

  • Forecasters are warning that wintry showers overnight and on Tuesday morning with snow accumulations of 1 to 2 cm, especially in Connacht, Ulster and north Leinster and on hills and mountains. A few snow flurries possible at lower levels further south. Frost and icy patches.

Precautionary gritting starting at 00:30 or earlier if rain stops, as low temperatures are expected overnight. Further monitoring of road conditions during the night.
