Gardaí in Fermoy are currently investigating a fatal RTC (Road Traffic Collision) which occurred at Mill Road, Fermoy at approximately 2.10pm today (Wednesday, 1st May 2019.)

An elderly man (in his 70’s) who was a single occupant of the vehicle, was fatally injured when his car collided with a pole. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Cork University Hospital.

The road was closed to facilitate a Garda Forensic Collision Investigation, but has since reopened.
