We received the following message from Fiver Rivers Ireland:

Despite the current pandemic we continue to need foster carers to care for children under 16 who cannot live with family. We are continuing to recruit and assess foster carer’s and are adapting our practices to ensure the safety of applicants and staff. Where in person visits are not possible we are able to carry out video calls and telephone calls. We are also providing our training online.

The same background checks that were required prior to Covid can still be undertaken. We require long term, short term and emergency foster carers. We also have risk assessments policies in place to ensure the safety of foster families.

It is essential that you have a spare room, have time to commit to caring for a child and if you have any children, they must be over 7 years. Further information is available on our website www.fiveriversfostering.ie or PM us or call us to talk to member of our team 021 7355977.

Despite the pandemic children are still coming into care. At present the main need is for foster carers for children 5 years & older.
