Uisce Éireann is actively working to restore the water supply to customers in Waterpark, Carrigaline, and surrounding areas after a burst watermain caused a significant disruption. The incident, which may affect up to 600 properties, has prompted a swift response from expert water service crews.

The teams have been dispatched to assess the situation and carry out necessary repair works. Every effort is being made to complete the repairs as quickly as possible, with the current estimated restoration time set for 2pm today.

Cormac Bergin, Operations Lead, expressed understanding of the challenges caused by such disruptions, stating:

“We understand the inconvenience unplanned outages can have on customers, and we appreciate your patience as we work to return the water supply to affected customers.”

As per best practice, most homes and businesses have on-site water storage, providing a temporary backup source for sanitation purposes. Following the completion of repair works, it typically takes two to three hours for normal supply to be fully restored, particularly in areas on higher ground or at the end of the network.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann will receive direct communications for outages lasting more than four hours. The organisation’s customer care team remains available 24/7 at 1800 278 278, and customers can also reach out on Twitter @IWCare for any queries.
