Met Éireann have issued 2 separate status yellow, weather warnings for Cork tomorrow. One for wind, and another for heavy rainfall.

WIND WARNING

  • Forecasters say that a southeasterly winds will reach mean speeds of 50 to 65km/h with gusts of 90 to 110km/hr. Gusts will exceed these values in exposed coastal areas and on higher ground, especially in the southwest.
  • Later Friday and continuing into Saturday there is the potential for some high totals of rainfall and flooding due to another area of low pressure and series of weather fronts, with the East and South particularly at risk.

RAINFALL WARNING

  • Forecasters are predicting that heavy rain will lead to accumulations of around 25 to 40mm but may exceed these limits in mountainous areas.
