Are you an older adult interesting in learning about some of the basics of technology?

Cork County Council’s Library Service is delighted to announce the launch of its pilot TECHSTEPS programme, which will be held at its Age Friendly branch in Fermoy.

TECHSTEPS is a pilot programme which will provide a basic introduction to technology for older people. Topics covered will include how to use a tablet with a basic Acorn tablet available to borrow for the duration of this course.   Participants will also learn how to send an email, how to make video calls and how to search the internet.

Commenting on TECHSTEPS, the Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Gillian Coughlan highlighted how:

Cork County Council’s library staff have received special training which will ensure participants experience a positive relationship with technology. As this is a pilot programme, places may be limited but I would encourage anyone who is interested to take their first tech step by contacting Fermoy library on 021 4546499 or our Library Headquarters on 021 4546499 and good luck everyone!

TECHSTEPS has been funded by The Dormant Accounts Fund, Government of Ireland and Cork County Council, a basic Acorn tablet can be borrowed for the duration of this course.
