The earlier Weather Warning issued by Met Éireann have been upgraded to Status Orange, and named as #StormDeirdre.
- Storm Deirdre will move quickly across the country this afternoon and evening and will move through the Irish Sea early tonight.
It will give some squally, damaging winds in all areas for a short period of time. - In Munster and Connacht winds will peak mid to late afternoon, depending on location and in Leinster and Ulster in the early evening.
- West to northwest winds mean speeds 55 to 70 km/hr gusts to 120 km/hr for a time this afternoon and early evening, strongest in coastal areas.

Met Éireann have issued two status Yellow Weather Warnings, nationwide. Both are valid from Saturday 15 December 2018 00:01 to Saturday 15 December 2018 23:59.
The first warning is for Wind.
- Forecasters are warning of south to southeast winds will increase to reach 55 to 60 km/h during Saturday morning, strongest in the east.
- Later on Saturday afternoon or evening winds veer west to northwest and further increase to reach 55 to 65 km/h with severe gusts of 90 to 110 km/h, possibly exceeding these limits for a time.

A second warning is also in affect for Rainfall.
- Forecasters are warning that heavy rain during Saturday will lead to accumulations of 30 to 50mm with some mountainous areas exceeding these limits.
