Cork County Council’s Fire Crews from Midleton and Cobh responded to an incident on the N25 Westbound between Junction 3 and Junction 2 at 0530hrs this morning.

The incident, involving the rear tyres of a fuel tanker catching fire, was quickly brought under control by Midleton and Cobh Brigades. Council Crews with 4 Appliances and 1 Water Tanker were operational throughout the incident.  An Garda Síochána and the National Ambulance Service were also in attendance. Initially both carriageways of the N25 were closed and traffic diversions put in place. Fire Crews remained on the scene until 1100hrs when the clean-up operation was being completed. The N25 Westbound opened at 1340hrs. No persons were injured during this incident.
