It’s come to our attention that there is a “voucher scam” currently circulating on Social Media indicating on that a free €750 SuperValu “voucher” can be “won.” Upon clicking on the link which (more than likely) you have spotted on a friends Facebook profile, will ask you to complete a series of questions which we’ve posted below.

It then proceeds to tell you that you’ve won a €750 shopping voucher to be used in SuperValu stores. In order to claim your prize, you need to share on Facebook by clicking on a “Share on Facebook” button and then you need to send the “Voucher” to 15 friends via Facebook Messenger. 

These scams are designed to obtain your personal information and could lead into types of fraud that may include identity theft.

We reached out to SuperValu Ireland to confirm and were told “This is a scam and we would advise not to interact with it.“

Earlier this year Aldi Ireland issued warnings of a similar scam that was doing the rounds on social media. Remember, if something seems too good to be true then it more than likely probably is. The vouchers cannot be redeemed either in-store or online
