The Status Red Rain Warning for Cork and Galway has expired as of 10am this morning. However, yellow warnings for wind and rain remain in place across large parts of the country, with Storm Bert continuing to bring unsettled weather.

Current Warnings:

  1. Status Yellow Wind Warning
    • Applies to Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, and Wicklow.
    • Valid: 5pm Saturday to 2am Sunday
    • Possible impacts:
      • Fallen trees
      • Displaced debris and loose objects
      • Difficult travelling conditions
  2. Status Yellow Wind and Rain Warning
    • Applies to Leinster, Munster, Connacht, Cavan, and Monaghan.
    • Valid: 10pm Friday to 12pm Saturday
    • Possible impacts:
      • Localised flooding
      • Travel disruption
      • Fallen trees

Residents across Munster, as well as other affected areas, are urged to remain cautious, particularly on roads where debris and surface flooding may cause hazardous conditions. The combination of strong winds and heavy rain is expected to persist until midday for these regions.

  • Avoid unnecessary travel during periods of strong winds and heavy rain.
  • Be alert for fallen trees and debris on roads.
  • Monitor Met Éireann’s updates for any changes to warnings.
