Gardaí have arrested a man and seized over €16,000 in suspected drugs and cash in Mallow.

Shortly after 8pm on July 26, 2020, Gardaí from the Mallow District Drugs Unit executed a search warrant at a house in Croke Place, Mallow.

During the course of the search Gardaí seized approximately €8,540 in cash, €7,000 of cocaine and €500 of cannabis herb. Gardaí also seized a weigh scales, plastic bags and a mobile phone.

The local Scenes of Crime Unit attended where they photographed the scene and the seized items. All of the suspected drugs will now be sent for analysis.

A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested the following afternoon in relation to the investigation. He was detained Mallow Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 and was later released.

A file is now being prepared for the DPP.
