Gardaí have arrested and charged a man in relation to a burglary in Mallow, Co Cork on May 18, 2020.

At around 2.30pm Gardaí from Mallow received a report from a member of the public of a possible break-in at a house in the Liscarroll area. Gardaí attended and carried out a search of the immediate area.

A man, aged in his late 30s, was found hiding in a nearby field and was in possession of items that had been stolen from the house.

He was arrested and brought to Mallow Garda Station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

He has since been charged to appear before Mallow District Court this morning at 10.30am.
