Irish Water, working in partnership with Gas Networks Ireland and Cork City Council, wishes to advise that the repair works to the local gas main on Beaumont Drive have been completed. Traffic restrictions have returned to a stop-go system whilst Irish Water and Cork City Council continue to replace almost 1km of problematic water mains on Beaumont Drive.

Steven Blennerhassett, Asset Delivery Regional Lead for Irish Water said:

I would like to thank everyone for their patience and again apologies for the inconvenience caused whilst repair works were ongoing today. Our crews worked through the night to try and minimise the disruption to everyone in the community. Irish Water and Cork City Council will again now focus on replacing almost 1km of problematic water mains on Beaumont Drive with new modern pipes.

The upgrading of these water mains will benefit the local community in Beaumount by strengthening and reinforcing the water network, and minimising disruptions in their water supply by reducing leakage and unplanned outages when bursts occur on the existing main.
