Irish Water and Cork County Council are working to repair a burst watermain on the Ballea Road in Carrigaline this evening. The burst is impacting the water supply to homes and businesses in the Carrigaline area.

Crews are rerouting flows to reduce the number of people impacted, whilst working to repair the burst safely and restore water supply to homes and businesses in the affected area as quickly as possible.

While it is hoped that the repair will be completed by tonight, if many other services are encountered that make the repair difficult, it may be tomorrow before the repair is completed and water supply is restored. Updates will be posted on the Service and Supply section of Irish Water’s website here: https://www.water.ie/water-supply/supply-and-service-update/?ref=COR00024245

Irish Water understands the inconvenience when a burst occurs and thanks customers for their patience while we work to repair the burst and restore normal supply to impacted customers. Our customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1850 278 278 and customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries.

Irish Water is working at this time, with our Local Authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of both staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of critical drinking water and wastewater services. Irish Water would like to remind people to follow the HSE COVID-19 advice and ensure frequent handwashing.
