The HSE today (Friday, 22nd October) would like to remind everyone aged 12 years and over, who have not received a COVID-19 vaccine that you can still go to any of our walk-in vaccination clinics running over the bank holiday weekend for a dose 1 or dose 2 vaccine. Details of the COVID-19 vaccination centres or walk-in clinics are available here.

You can also register for a vaccine appointment, online, by phone  or  booking an appointment with a participating pharmacy. Everyone will be offered the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine. Vaccines are proven to be your best protection against serious illness from COVID-19. If you haven’t had your vaccine yet, you’re at higher risk.

Registration for 12 to 15 year olds

Anyone aged 12 or older can now get a COVID-19 vaccine. If you are aged 12 to 15, your parent or legal guardian will need to register you and give consent for your COVID-19 vaccine. For more information on how to get a vaccine for 12 to 15 year olds, please see here.

Registration for people aged 16 and older

If you are aged 16 or older, you can register for your COVID-19 vaccine if you haven’t already. To get vaccinated without an appointment, you can also go to a walk-in vacation clinic this weekend. Details of our walk-in clinics are available here.

If you are pregnant

Talk to your obstetrician, midwife or GP about the benefits and risks of getting a COVID-19 vaccine. If you would like to get your vaccine after this, you can register online or go to a walk-in vaccination clinic. Your maternity hospital or GP can also arrange your COVID-19 vaccine. Read more about how you will get your COVID-19 vaccine if you are pregnant here.

If you cannot register online, call the COVID-19 helpline to register by phone instead.

What to bring?

Bring your appointment information. This will be on your mobile phone or in a letter. You will also need a photo ID that shows your date of birth. Bring this to both of your vaccination appointments.

Your photo id can be your:

  • Passport – book or card
  • Driving licence
  • Public Services Cards
  • Travel Pass
  • National Age Card – issued by the Garda

For those people identified as needing an additional COVID-19 vaccine or who are eligible for a booster dose, please attend the appointment time scheduled for you. Please do not attend the walk-in clinics. If the time does not suit you, you can ask for a new appointment.
