Gardaí have issued Cork Safety Alerts with the following statement:

Gardaí are currently at the scene of an incident on Patrick Street in Cork city. The incident occurred at approximately 3.45pm on Thursday, 8th October 2020.

A male, details currently unknown, has been taken to Cork University Hospital with what are believed to be serious injuries.

The scene is currently preserved for a technical examination.

Investigations are ongoing.
