Gardaí have arrested and charged a man, 20s, in relation to a burglary at a clothing shop on Opera Lane in Cork city on April 14, 2020.

Shortly after 2am, Gardaí received a report of a possible break-in at a shop on Opera Lane. Gardaí from Anglesea Street, with the assistance of the Armed Support Unit, attended the scene and found a man inside the shop trying to access the cash register.

He was arrested, brought to Togher Garda Station and was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

He has since been charged and is due to appear before Cork City District Court this morning at 10.30am.
