Gardai are investigating an assault which occurred in the early hours of this morning in Ballincollig, Co. Cork. An employee from a casino located off Times Square in Ballincollig was assaulted by an armed assailant outside her place of employment. The female staff member was threatened, and assualted as she was approached by a masked man who is said to have been armed with a firearm.

The assailant was described as being:

• 5ft 6” – 5ft 9” tall
• Wearing Blue Jeans
• Black Shoes
• Black Jacket

Anyone who may have information, or who was in the Ballincollig Main Street area between midnight and 1.30am who may have witnessed anything unusual, to contact them.
