Gardaí are investigating a single vehicle road traffic collision that occurred on the Glenville Road, Ballincrokig, Cork, this morning Sunday 15 December 2019 at approximately 2:45am.

The car driver, a male in his 20s, the sole occupant of the vehicle left the road and hit a wall. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been removed to the morgue at Cork University Hospital for a post mortem.

The road remains closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are examining the scene.

Gardaí are appealing for any person who may have any information or any road users who may have travelled the road from 2:30 – 5:30am this morning, Sunday 15th December that may have camera footage to contact Mayfield Garda Station on 021 455 8510, Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
