Gardaí in Fermoy are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred this morning, Friday 6th March 2020, on the R639 between Fermory and Rathcormac at approximately 7am.

A male pedal cyclist (60) was fatally injured when a collision occurred between a car and his bicycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner has been notified and his body has been removed to the morgue at Cork University Hospital.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are currently at the scene and the road is currently closed.
