Today marks the last day of the season for Cork County Council lifeguards and will be the final day that lifeguards will be on duty at Cork beaches.

The lifeguards will finish up this evening at 7pm, and will no longer be on duty  and are advising the public to remember to not swim alone, supervise children and remember that inflatables are prohibited.

On their Facebook Page this morning, Cork Co Co Beachguards said:

Today, Sunday 13th September is the last day lifeguards will be on duty. We would like to thank the public for their understanding and co-operation during this extremely busy season.

From 7pm this evening lifeguards will no longer be on duty so it is important to never swim alone, always supervise children around water and remember that inflatables are strictly prohibited.

If you see someone in trouble call the emergency services 999 or 112.

We thank the team for their great work over the summer months, and look forward to welcoming you back next year in 2021!
