It’s looking likely that Face Masks in Shops and Indoor Settings will be mandatory from Monday, 20th July subject to cabinet approval this evening.
According to RTE News, “The wearing of face coverings is likely to be made compulsory in shops and other indoor settings, following a meeting of cabinet this evening.”
Failure to comply with these regulations could carry penalties of a fine up to €2500 or 6 months imprisonment.
Cabinet also meet this evening to discuss moving into Phase 4 of the Easing of COVID-19 restrictions, and whether they feel it’s safe to progress into the fourth stage.
We’ll have further updates on this as the evening progresses.
