We’ve recently received a number of messages from concerned members of the public, who had noticed markings on ESB Network minipillars in various locations around Cork.

There had been speculation online that these have been placed as a sign of dogs/animals residing at a premises for theft.

We’ve reached out to ESB Networks press office who have confirmed that these markings have indeed been placed by ESB Network technicians to help identify which minipillar has been visited:

If you are concerned about a marking on an ESB Minipillar near your home, it’s best to reach out to ESB Networks to confirm the markings are genuine or indeed to your local Garda station.
