Gardaí have arrested a man and seized €7,500 of suspected drugs in Mayfield, Co Cork on July 1, 2020.

As part of an ongoing investigation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in Cork city, Detective Gardaí from Mayfield executed a search warrant at a house in Murmont Crescent, Mayfield at around 1.30pm.

During the course of the search Gardaí seized €7,500 of suspected MDMA. The suspected drugs will now be sent for analysis.

A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested at the scene and was brought to Mayfield Garda Station. He was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 and has since been released.

A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
