Gardaí have seized €7,310 of suspected drugs in Cork City on July 14, 2020.

At 11am Gardaí from the City Centre Policing Unit were carrying out a plain clothes patrol, targeting street level drug dealing, when they saw a man carrying a suitcase in Bishop Lucey Park.

The man, aged in his 20s, was stopped and found to be in possession of €6,370 of cocaine, 120 valium tablets worth €240 and a weighing scales.
Whilst dealing with this incident a woman, aged in her late teens, approached Gardaí and became aggressive. She was also searched and was found to be in possession of 350 tablets of valium worth €700.

The man was arrested and brought to Bridewell Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

The woman was brought back to Bridewell Garda Station for the purpose of a further search but was not arrested. A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

All of the suspected drugs will now be sent for analysis.
